Welcome to a brand-new school year at Monroe Country Day School! It’s hard to believe, but for some of our students this marks their 10th year with us. Together, we’re celebrating a decade of excellence—ten years of small classes, hands-on learning, and a community built on respect, responsibility, and friendship.
Here’s what to expect as we get started:

Community Events:
- The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Audition
- Gardes 6-12
- August 19th from 6:30-8pm, and August 24th from 1-3pm
- Auditions will consist of cold readings and should only last about 30 minutes!
- Monroe's Got Talent Auditions
- August 16th from 2-5pm, and August 20th from 6-8pm
Instructional Updates:
- Grades 3-5 are being taught science separately in the STEM building. This is a new approach, and the students are enjoying the change, anticipating lots of hands-on experiments, labs, and collaborative activities.
- 6th and 7th-grade ELA are diving into Amplify reading and will soon be exploring the Amplify digital platform, which will complement day-to-day language arts activities.
- Monroe Mondays kicked off with the 8th graders and a quick jaunt down to the Monroe-Walton Library with check-ins at the statues planted along the way.
Reminders:
- Cell Phone Policy:
All cell phones should be turned off and placed in a student's backpack. Students should not access their phones during the school day. Please note that although we hate to do it, if phones are taken in class, we will call a parent to come retrieve it.
- Drop Off / Pick Up:
Thank you for your patience and for helping us during the first few weeks of school as we work out our procedures. Please remember to line up on High School Avenue, Come across when it is clear and there is space for your vehicle. Do not block Church Street when dropping off or picking up. Also, do not pass cars on the right side during drop-off or pick-up. We have students who exit and load the vehicle on the passenger side. This is for their safety. Please make sure you have your car tag visible at pick up.
- After 8:25 AM, you will need to park and come to the front office to sign your child in.
